Greetings from DK Land!
We’ve got news that those of you thinking EXTRA LARGE need to know!
Dirty Kanza Extra Large opens at 8am CST on December 1 and will remain open through December 8, 11:59pm. This will be year 3 for this ultra challenge, and a new course has been fully explored and vetted.
“DKXL is Dirty Kanza, taken back to the very basics of gravel. It’s long. It’s hard. It’s Extra-Large. It’s totally rider-self-supported,” said Jim Cummins, Chief Gravel Officer. Cummins, along with Dirty Kanza Event Director LeLan Dains, are excited about the new route. “Any roads shared with the Dirty Kanza 200 riders will be limited, and we don’t anticipate any cross traffic in 2020.” Dains also believes more riders are ready to take on the 350 mile challenge.
If you are interested, make sure to mark your calendars and get your entry in – riders will be notified on or before December 16th if they made the cut. And, if you are not sure you have what it takes, consider participating in the first ever DKXL Spring Camp – we have the team of coaches paired with clinics and riding to help you be prepared. Read why past DK camper and multi-time DK 200 finisher Anthony Casarona will be at the 2020 DKXL Camp.
