We love a flash back to the good ol’ days just as much as the next person. And as we approach our 10th running of the Dirty Kanza 200 next year we can’t help but to reflect on 9 exceptionally great years of gravel grinding here in Emporia, KS. So, in order to share these visions of the DK’s past we are joining in on the Throwback Thursday craze. Every week we will share a photo from the DK’s past. It’s not all about us though….please share your photos (with a short caption or brief story) via our facebook event ‘share your photos’ and we will post it for all to see! (Simply go to our FB page and look under events)
A fine looking crew if we do say so ourselves. From left to right that’s DK Co-Founder Jim Cummins, High Gear Guru Garret Seacat, DK Route Master Tim Mohn, High Gear owner Matt Brown, DK Director LeLan Dains, and none other than Mike Wise (been a while since we’ve seen that man on the gravel!).
For all you DK first timers, let us give you a hint. Find a train like this and stick with it! That’s Tim Mohn pulling Garret Seacat, LeLan Dains, Jim Cummins, and Mike Wise along for the ride in 2008. Only the third edition of the DK200!
