Dirty Kanza Virtual Camp

We’ve all been right there with you in the craziness of COVID-19 and the changing landscape we all are in together. You may or may not know that our Garmin Dirty Kanza presented by Salsa Training Camps have been canceled. And while we made that tough decision for the safety of all of us, we here in E-town can tell you that we felt the wind come out of our sails. You see, camps mean SO much to all of us. We love rolling up our sleeves, riding side-by-side, sharing meals, and celebrating the accomplishments of us all.

But we’ve kept our proverbial wheels turning. We’ve reached out to our incredible partners within the cycling community, and pitched our crazy idea… And you know what!? WE ARE DOING IT! Drumroll please…..

We are STOKED to offer our first ever DK Virtual Camp. For 4 days, April 2nd-5th, all camp programming, including the hours of rides along Emporia’s finest flint, will be made virtual. Consider this a bit of “behind the scenes” of Dirty Kanza and Emporia, and get a look at some of the craziness, in addition to great training tips from so many amazing folks.

The programming will immerse our “campers” in online sessions featuring motivational, instructional and educational video content, online ride challenges, on-course video tours and live streams with cameo appearances by sponsors and previous race winners Yuri Hauswald, Amanda Naumann, Ali Tetrick and Colin Strickland, among others. We’ll even kick the weekend off with “Cooking with Jim Cummins” – a first, but definitely a worthwhile experience!

Registration will be live on Thursday, April 2nd, beginning at 10am CT. Camp is open to every gravel cyclist, or person interested in cycling anywhere on this planet, at a minimal cost of $10. A portion of all entry fees will directly impact the local Emporia businesses, who need our support more than ever right now! All campers will also get $10 off all our rad DK merch.

Check out the Virtual Camp page for the full schedule, and be sure to check back on Thursday for the link to the camp.

We hope to give all of you at home a positive and uplifting few days. Raising each other up is so important right now, and our hope is this does just that. So block your calendars, get your chamois butt’r ready, and saddle up for 4 awesome days of Training Camp!
