Bicycling magazine has signed on as the “Official Media Sponsor” for the 2015 Edition of Dirty Kanza 200 (DK200), an ultra-endurance gravel road bike race held in Kansas. Leaving from downtown Emporia on the morning of Saturday, May 30, riders will face 200 miles of gravel roads through the Flint Hills region of east-central Kansas. They will encounter big hills, rough roads, high temperatures, and strong winds.
“We are excited to join forces with Bicycling magazine, the largest media brand in the cycling industry, as we continue to serve the ultra-endurance cycling community,” said race founder Jim Cummins. “We are celebrating a ‘Decade of Dirty’ during our 10th anniversary race in 2015 and are honored to have Bicycling as a part of that celebration.”
“The Dirty Kanza 200 is the world’s premier ultra-endurance gravel road challenge,” said Bicycling publisher Zack Grice. “We’re eager to expose the Bicycling audience to this unique cycling experience and get cyclists acquainted to the Decade of Dirty.”
Registration for DK200 opens January 10, 2015, and will be conducted online at Bikereg.com. Event organizers expect the 1,500 rider field limit to sell out quickly.
