Having a crew present at Dirty Kanza is a requirement and we know that not everyone can travel with friends or family. It is for that reason that we team up with the Never Let Go Fund to offer a Crew-for-Hire program. They offer a crucial program for Dirty Kanza and your participation in this program benefits their organization. Everybody wins! However, we are limited in the number of people that we can support. Our top priority is ensuring that all participants have a safe exit strategy should they need to pull the plug on their Dirty Kanza ride. It takes a large number of vehicles equipped to rescue riders in order to do this in a timely fashion.
With that said, we have had a larger demand for the program this year and we want to accommodate as many folks as we can. We are working to garner additional vehicles and therefore will be opening an additional 50 spots in the crew-for-hire program. This means that starting today we will open the crew-for-hire via bikereg.com until Tuesday, March 29th or until an additional 50 spots have been filled, whichever occurs first. That means if you are in need of this program do not wait!
If you find that you are in need of a crew once the program is in fact full, there are other options for getting support. A crew-for-hire spot can be transferred the same as an entry. Some people will ultimately not be able to attend and may be looking to get rid of their entry and crew-for-hire spot. You can go to the Dirty Kanza transfer thread to look for a spot or share your need for one.
We also encourage you to find a buddy and share resources! One support crew person should be more than capable of supporting a handful of riders. Team up with your friends or find others coming from your area and work together to share a crew.
