The DK50 Lite Fun Ride is a 50-mile map-guided tour, designed specifically for recreational cyclists. The ride will start at 8:30 am on September 12th, 2020, in front of the Granada Theatre, 807 Commercial Street, in downtown Emporia, Kansas. Participants will follow portions of the DK200 course, finishing back at the Granada Theatre under the DK finish line banner. One fully-supported rest station will be provided. DK50 is the perfect option for support crews and family members looking for a small taste of the DK experience.
More info coming soon!
GPS links, maps and cue sheets will not be made available until Monday, May 25th, 2020.
Each rider will be responsible for printing out their own maps and cue sheets. These maps and cue sheets will guide the rider to each checkpoint along the route.
NOTE: This is an extremely remote area. You will likely not pass through any towns, and therefore no convenience stores between stops. Always be aware of the distance to the next checkpoint, and be prepared to travel that distance with the supplies you carry.
DK 50 is an event for entry-level cyclists. However, participants are solely responsible for their personal well-being, will have to make their own informed decisions, and suffer the consequences of those decisions. Please be aware… if you break down or become injured, it is YOUR responsibility to contact your support crew to come get you. DO NOT CALL US. WE WILL NOT COME RESCUE YOU. EVENT PROMOTERS AND SPONSORS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY AND WELL-BEING. If you sign up for this event, make sure you have a support crew with a well thought out emergency backup plan. If you do not feel you are prepared to meet such a challenge, please consider a shorter route option. All DK event participants, regardless of event distance, are required to have a Support Crew present.

Ship your bike to Gravel City Adventure & Supply Co., the official adventure retailer of DK, offering professional assembly. GCAS will assemble your bike as well as tune all parts to make sure you are prepared to succeed at camp. Assembly includes front and rear derailleur adjustment, wheel truing, brake adjustment, along with checking chain, cassette, and brake pads for wear. GCAS will provide a complete package, so when you tackle the training rides, you do it without any mechanical difficulty. Having a professional mechanic go through your bike can be the difference between a good and bad ride. Additionally, GCAS will professionally repack your bike for you and ship it. The training camp cost for build and repack is $120. (Shipping charge separate.)
Please ship your bike so it arrives AT LEAST three days before training camp starts- that way if a part is damaged in shipping there is time to order a replacement if necessary, and you won’t miss a minute of riding. Gravel City Adventure & Supply Company is excited to help support DK training camp and is excited to see everyone. GCAS: “Building community one adventure at a time.”
The DK Youth Cycling Fund has been established as a way to raise funds to promote youth cycling in the state of Kansas and throughout the Midwest. DK is committed to seeing #morekidsonbikes. This fund will allow us to continue assisting with clinics locally for youth, and begin working on the establishment of an Interscholastic Cycling League in the state of Kansas and throughout the Midwest. It will take a lot of work and money to make this a reality. DK is committed to leading the charge on both fronts. The proceeds from our High School event will be put in the DK Youth Cycling Fund. More help will be needed.
If you’d like to make a monetary contribution, you can do so online, by clicking here. Please remember to include “DK Youth Cycling Fund” in the memo to signify where the money is going.
