As our Garmin DK Training Camp presented by Salsa Cycles weekend approaches, we know that the COVID-19 situation is top-of-mind for everyone. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we all try to navigate this evolving situation together. Due to the most recent updates surrounding the crisis, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 training camps.
The health and safety of our participants, volunteers, local community and team members is our top priority as we continue to monitor the situation on a global, national, regional and local level. Bringing any group together at this time is irresponsible. We have explored every possible option to ensure a safe environment for the event, but ultimately need to put the health and safety of ours communities first.
Due to the cancellation, we would like to offer you a couple of options to choose from:
Option 1a: Defer your Camp Entry to 2021, Race DK in 2020
Option 1b: Defer your entire Camp + Entry into 2021
Option 2a: Full refund on your 2020 Camp + DK Entry
Option 2b: Refund on 2020 Camp Only with no 2021 Camp Deferral. Remain in the 2020 DK Event.
At this time, it is still our goal to host the 2020 Garmin DK. We are committed to communicating our decision to either rescheduling or canceling the event by May 1st, 2020, 4 weeks out from race day. You will receive an email with are full communications regarding race weekend directly.
Despite the cancelation, we are working hard to bring you a virtual camp experience, including recommended rides you can do locally, videos from our camp coaches and staff, and more! Stay tuned for more information on that.
DK hosts a world premier training camp in Emporia, KS tailored for gravel enthusiasts each Spring. This 4 day training camp focuses on preparing athlete’s mind, body, and machine for the rigors of the Dirty Kanza and other epic gravel endeavors. Camp athletes will learn through educational seminars, test their equipment on the gravel roads of the Flint Hills, and train their bodies with abundant riding. In addition, you will enjoy great locally sourced food designed to keep you fueled throughout the weekend. And it wouldn’t be a DK camp without amazing goodies from our Dirty Kanza sponsors.
Camp includes entry into either the DK200 or DK100 event distances. There is no better way to earn a coveted DK finish, or potentially Race the Sun, than our DK Training Camp.
